When there are still toys, lying around newspapers or clothes on the floor, your housekeeper loses precious time. By dotting the i's and crossing the t's yourself, our household helper can immediately do what he or she does best: make your home shine from top to bottom!
5 tips for a tidy house
- The laundry basket
Pick up an empty basket and walk around the house. Collect all the things lying around. Don't have time to put everything away immediately? Then put the basket aside for a while. This will prevent things ending up in the wrong place.
- Make it a game with the kids
Clean up with the kids the night before. Put on some happy music and see who gets their toys into the bins the fastest. That way they will learn to help playfully.
- Fixed place for accessories
Provide clear hooks or baskets at the entrance for scarves, shoes and bags. If everything has a fixed place, the floor will remain free for the hoover.
- Clear surfaces
Clear the kitchen sink and bathroom sink as much as possible. The fewer loose pots and bottles there are, the quicker and more thoroughly your household helper can clean everything.
- Check your stock of cleaning products
Nothing is more annoying for a household helper than an empty can of all-purpose cleaner. Make sure you have plenty of cleaning products, clean mops and hoover bags in the house and put them in a central, easily accessible place.
Clear communication is the key
Make clear agreements. Do you have a drawer for "found objects" or a fixed place where help puts things whose location is unclear? If necessary, use labels in (kitchen) cupboards. This saves questions and makes emptying the dishwasher a piece of cake.
