Safety is a priority. Always and everywhere. Whether you're on your way to your first client, rushing from one appointment to the next, or heading home after a busy day — at TRIXXO, we believe it’s important that you travel safely, every single day.

That's why we've put together some handy tips and tricks to help you make every journey smooth and safe. An accident can happen in the blink of an eye, but with a little extra attention and the right preparation, you can avoid many risks!

Adjust your driving style

Speed and conditions

It sounds logical, but it's crucial: adjust your speed to the conditions. Rain, slipperiness, traffic, or poor visibility? Slow down! This applies to every mode of transport, whether you're by car, bicycle, scooter, or on foot.

Avoid rush hour

Do you have flexible working hours? Make use of them! By avoiding rush hour, you not only save time and stress, but you also drive in safer, calmer conditions.

See and be seen

Being visible is key

Whether you choose a fluorescent vest, flashing lights on your bike, or a striking helmet: make sure other road users see you. Especially in the dark or at dusk, this can save lives. Always wear clothing that suits your mode of transport and the weather conditions.

Zero tolerance

Alcohol, drugs, and certain medications do not belong in traffic. Plan ahead and ensure you are always sober when you hit the road. Think about this the evening or day before too. Your focus is essential!

Take care of yourself and your vehicle

Technically tip-top

A well-maintained vehicle is a safe vehicle. Make sure your car, bicycle, or scooter is technically in order. Regularly check your tires, brakes, and lights. And if you're not completely confident in your driving skills? Practice!

Hands-free in traffic

Operating your mobile phone while driving is life-threatening and forbidden, even at a red light. Put your phone away or in a holder before you depart. This way, you can fully concentrate on the road.

Respect the rules (and each other)

Of course, you respect every traffic rule, but also think about the unwritten rules. Show respect for all road users, from pedestrians to truck drivers. A little courtesy makes traffic a lot safer and more pleasant for everyone.

Be aware as a vulnerable road user

As a cyclist, pedestrian, e-scooter user, or moped rider, you are a so-called "vulnerable road user." This means you are theoretically more protected, but always remember that a car or truck is physically much stronger. Don't take unnecessary risks, stick to the rules, and be extra alert to your surroundings. Also, pay attention to road irregularities such as curbs, grates, and tram/train tracks.

Protect your eyes and rest enough

Sunglasses can work wonders in low sun or bright light. Make sure you always have a pair handy. And if you feel tired? Take a break! A short rest can prevent you from falling asleep behind the wheel.

Headphones and earbuds: Be careful

Try to avoid using headphones or earbuds in traffic. Your hearing is an important sense for being aware of your surroundings and hearing other road users approach.

Carrying luggage safely

Always transport your luggage on your bicycle, moped, or e-scooter in a safe and comfortable way. Make sure it's properly secured and doesn't obstruct your view or balance.
