Use a stepladder safely
- Always place it on a stable surface.
- Lock the legs if possible.
- Do not use damaged or worn equipment.
- Prefer a stepladder with anti-slip strips and a maximum of 3 steps.
- Do not reach too far — move the ladder instead if you can’t reach something.
- If needed, ask someone to hold or steady the stepladder.
Extra safety tips
- Never balance on windowsills or furniture.
- Do not lean over obstacles — this increases the risk of falling.
- Always maintain a safe posture and ensure solid support points.
- Chairs and tables are not safe step stools.
- Wear closed anti-slip shoes, preferably the TRIXXO safety shoes.
- Never jump down from a height.
- Avoid twisting movements while elevated.
- Keep your feet shoulder-width apart for more stability.
- Look at the steps before and while using them.
- And finally: no phone use on the ladder!
Safety isn’t a luxury — a little attention can make a big difference.
