From 1 January 2026, some important rules around service vouchers will change in the Brussels-Capital Region. Below, we explain in clear language what is changing and what it means concretely for you.

What will change for you as a customer:

New price per cheque:

  • 11.40 EUR per cheque for the first 300 cheques.
  • 14.00 EUR per cheque from the 301st to the 500th cheque.
  • These amounts include automatic indexation.

    Orders and payments:

    • For paper cheques, there is a minimum amount of EUR 114 per order.
    • For electronic cheques, the minimum is EUR 11.40.
    • Any payment that does not exactly match the required multiple may be (partially) refunded to the user. So please be careful when transferring.

    Specific quotas:

People with disabilities or parents of a minor with disabilities can order up to 1,000 service cheques per year at EUR 11.40 per cheque. For parents of a minor child with a disability (under 25), this quota will be allocated to either parent, by default to the one with the child's dependents.
Users entitled to maternity assistance will receive 105 service vouchers per year, paid by their social insurance fund, at EUR 11.40 per cheque.

    Tax deduction abolished from 2026:

Important: the tax deduction for service cheques will disappear for all cheques purchased from 1 January 2026. This means that tax attestations issued in 2027 (on purchases made in 2026) will no longer contain any tax benefit.

Purchases made in 2025 will still be entitled to the existing tax deduction (the attestation issued in 2026 for 2025 will contain that benefit).

Eliminating the ceiling on administrative costs:

The additional administrative fees charged by service cheque organisations are no longer subject to a statutory cap. However, these charges must not be unreasonable in nature.

Important principles that must be strictly observed:

    • Administrative charges may not be paid by service vouchers (i.e. only by other means of payment).
    • These charges may only be made after the user has agreed to them.
    • They must relate only to real, demonstrable and clearly explained costs by the provider.
