At present, the tax deduction for your service vouchers depends on the region in which you live. Wallonia, Brussels or Flanders: the rules are not the same everywhere.

Will the tax benefit associated with purchasing service vouchers still exist in 2026?

Yes… but not everywhere! In Belgium, service vouchers remain an advantageous system for accessing a registered, reliable and supervised home helper. However, the tax benefit has changed in recent years. In 2026, the answer therefore depends on the region where you live.

  • In Wallonia: yes, service vouchers remain tax-efficient

In the Walloon Region, you benefit from a fixed tax reduction of €0.90 per service voucher, for the first 150 service vouchers purchased per person during the year.

  • In Brussels: no, no more tax relief for purchases made in 2026

From 1 January 2026, the tax relief associated with service vouchers will be abolished in the Brussels-Capital Region for all service vouchers purchased on or after that date.

Please note: a tax deduction is still available for service vouchers purchased in 2025, as these relate to the 2026 tax return. However, for purchases made in 2026, the tax certificates issued in 2027 will no longer include any tax benefit.

  • In Flanders: no, the tax deduction has been abolished since 2025

In the Flemish Region, the tax relief for service vouchers has been abolished for vouchers purchased from 1 January 2025 onwards. Service vouchers purchased in 2026 therefore no longer entitle the holder to any tax relief in Flanders.

Which region is taken into account?

The region that determines your tax benefit is the one in which you are resident on 1 January of the tax year. For example, for service vouchers purchased in 2025 and declared in 2026, your place of residence on 1 January 2026 is taken into account.
