Flexijobs: higher ceilings and new sectors
The most popular way to earn extra income has become even more attractive in 2026. For many candidates, a flexi job is the ideal way to combine passion and income, and for employers the perfect solution for peak times.
- Higher tax ceiling: From this year, the tax-free ceiling for non-retired flexi-jobbers has been raised to EUR18,000. This means that motivated workers can earn significantly more on the side without an extra tax burden.
- Flexi everywhere from summer: The biggest change is planned for summer 2026: flexi jobs will most likely become possible in all sectors. At TRIXXO JOBS, we are ready to facilitate these new matches, from engineering and logistics to the healthcare sector.
Higher value of meal vouchers
A small adjustment with a big impact on daily satisfaction. From now on, the maximum value of the meal voucher has increased from EUR8 to EUR10.
For the employer, this is a powerful tool to show appreciation to staff. When a EUR10 meal voucher is awarded, the employer also enjoys an increased tax deduction of EUR4. Please note that this does not apply automatically but requires a company or sector collective labour agreement. Our TRIXXO experts will be happy to advise you on how to implement this within your company.
Student employment from 15 years
At TRIXXO JOBS we believe that craftsmanship can start early, given the right guidance. Since this year, the minimum age for student work has been lowered to 15 years.
Since this year, the minimum age for student work has been lowered to 15 years.
Although we are still waiting for the exact definition of 'light work', the protective rules are already strict and people-oriented. For instance, a 15-year-old may work a maximum of 2 hours per school day and night work is prohibited. The goal? To give young people a taste of the workplace without jeopardising their school performance or rest.
In addition, there is good news for parents: the ceiling amount to remain 'dependent' as a student has been raised to EUR12,000 net. This allows students to save for the future without penalising the family fiscally.
Free overtime: gross = net
Sometimes success requires an extra effort. To give companies and temporary workers more oxygen, the system of voluntary overtime will be greatly expanded from 1 April 2026.
Every temporary worker will now be allowed to perform 360 voluntary overtime hours per year. The big advantage? No social contributions or taxes are due for 240 of those hours. What you earn gross, you therefore get net in the pocket. In the catering industry (PC 302), this maximum is even increased to 450 hours. This is the way to deal with peak moments with motivated workers who immediately reap the benefits.
