- Cooperate with reinforcers to correctly place and fix reinforcement.
- Check dimensions and slopes before casting; ensure watertight connections and correct joints.
- Assist in pouring and compacting concrete and safely dismantling formwork after curing.
- Work according to safety regulations and quality standards - any error in the formwork can have structural consequences.

- Directly visible results: you see tangible progress on site every day - from skeleton to finished concrete work. This gives a lot of job satisfaction.
- Strong demand for construction professionals: the construction industry offers a lot of opportunities and stability, even in economically difficult periods.
- Variation and physical work: you combine technical insight with practicality and often work as part of a team at varying locations.

What qualities do you need?
- Technical insight and spatial imagination: you must be able to read plans and convert them into correct formwork.
- Accuracy and attention to detail: small deviations have major consequences for the final result.
- Physical resilience and hands-on mentality: lifting, climbing and working in all weathers are part of the job.
- Safety awareness: working safely on site is crucial - procedures and PPE are strictly followed.
- Team player: coordinating with crews, concrete crew and supervisors requires clear communication and cooperation.
Training and growth
You do not need an extensive degree to get started; many bekisters learn the trade on-the-job within an apprenticeship or through in-house mentoring. Companies and staffing partners often offer targeted training and further education so you can expand your skills and grow.
